How much will my project cost?
Before we can estimate the cost of your project, we need some information from you to develop a proposal. Some of the factors that affect cost are the time it will take to complete the project, the complexity and size of the project, the number of revisions you request, our current workload and your expectations.
Who is responsible for developing the content of my project?
Unless otherwise arranged, you will provide text and photos. We prefer high-quality digital photos and text in standard HTML format, plain text or Microsoft Word documents. Scanning hard copies will increase the cost. Professional proofreading and editing are included as part of our overall service package. For additional fees, we also offer professional writing, logo design and photography services.
Because the cost of a project is based on the assumption that we will only need to format content once, we prefer to collect or create all text, logos and photos before we begin production. Minor edits after the initial formatting are not a problem, but major content revisions should be made before production begins.
Can I make revisions as the project progresses?
We will not limit the number of revisions you can request or the amount of time we will spend with you. Instead, we will make every effort to accommodate your requests as the project evolves. In return, we ask our customers to make reasonable requests for revisions and additional features.
Please remember that our original proposal includes ongoing consultation and planning services for the duration of the project. We will work hand in hand with you to evaluate the work we have done and adapt to challenges and new ideas as they arise.
However, if the changes you request cause the project to require substantially more resources than we originally budgeted for, we reserve the right to renegotiate the original quoted fee.
Will you meet my deadline?
Because projects grow or shrink to accommodate new ideas, setting hard deadlines can be difficult. If you have a specified deadline you need us to meet, we will obligate ourselves to meet it, but we may need to be more picky about declining any requests that extend the initial scope of the project.
Throughout the project we will regularly contact you for feedback. Please remember that how quickly you get back to us with your responses is an important factor in our finishing your project on time.
Why should I host my web site with 3b Creative?
We do not offer web hosting to make a profit. There’s no money in it. We offer this service to ensure that your site is hosted by a company we have a relationship with. This prevents us from telling you to call your host when you have a problem with your site. When you host with someone else, we are both at their mercy. If you host through us, we can take responsibility in getting issues solved quickly.
Will the web site you design for me place on search engines?
Search engine placement is an art, and we do our best to build web pages that get the best possible placement. Although we do have a few tricks up our sleeves, customers must also understand that we cannot in any way guarantee top ten placement (without paying for it), because many of the factors that result in high rankings are out of our hands.
For example, search engines continuously change the way they find and rank web sites, making what may be good for a site’s rankings one week, obsolete the following week. We will do our best to set up your site for optimal placement, but you must remember maintaining placement is a continuous job, requiring regular content tweaking and submissions to search engines. We can direct you to resources that will help you do this on your own, or we offer a monthly Internet marketing service to enhance your placement.
How will my web site be maintained and updated?
A web site is rarely truly finished, because it requires editing, updating and revision as your business or project evolves. However, once the initial site design is complete, further changes and site maintenance will be subject to additional charges.
We also offer the following ongoing site maintenance services for a monthly fee:
Manage on-line site advertising
Submit site to search engines
Optimize site for search engines
Can I learn to edit my own site?
We can explain the fundamentals of web site maintenance and develop areas of your site that you can easily update. However, we are not responsible for problems that may arise when clients update their own site. While we do keep back-up copies of all our work, we cannot fix a damaged site for free.
